Day 2Miami–Havana, Cuba (Embarkation)

This morning, a short flight brings you to Havana, Cuba’s capital city. Upon arrival, meet your Cuban National Tour Director. An orientation tour of this bustling city includes a photo stop at REVOLUTION SQUARE. Enjoy a ride in an OLD STYLER CAR—definitely a trip highlight! Next, lunch at a local paladar (special, privately owned restaurant), where over dessert you can discuss the rewards and challenges of owning a business in Cuba and in the United States. This afternoon, walk the streets of OLD HAVANA, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discuss renovations, different architecture, and plans for the future. Later today, board your ship, the MTS CELESTYAL CRYSTAL, your home for the next seven nights.

Day 3Havana

Start your day with a visit to a DAYCARE CENTER to interact with the children and the nuns who run the program. The children may even delight you with a song or two. Next, it’s on to FINCA VIGIA, Ernest Hemingway’s beloved home. Hemingway lived in Cuba for more than 30 years, and it is here that he wrote several books, participated in fishing contests and enjoyed the laid-back ambiance of the island. Engage with staff to learn about this Nobel Prize-winning novelist and his life in Cuba. You’ll also have a chance to see his fishing boat, El Pilar. Lunch is at a local ORGANIC FARM, where you’ll join in a discussion with the owners, learn about organic farming in Cuba, and then sit down for a genuine farm-to-table experience. Re-board your ship for a 5 pm departure for the beautiful Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth).
